Awesome stuff! You really nailed the atmosphere. I finally got through all the decks on hardcore; it was a fun challenge! I'm starting to feel really bad for THE IMP... Really excited to see what comes next; I would totally pay for an expanded version of this!
Wanted to mention a few recurring bugs:
The codex still reads "You have not used this deck yet" for all decks except the Starter Deck.
Lucky can trigger while returning a card, but it gives the card that would have reached perfect before returning the card.
The "small upgrade" chapter displays 1 and 2 as options for "THE MASTER's DECK," even when you don't have any.
Yo this game is lowkey fire its art style is good and its gameplay is really addictive and replayable too. I would love to see more upgrades and cards and maybe some more floors after the current final boss? I liked it a lot tho
This game is sooo fun! I keep playing it again and again! I have beaten all the bosses on normal and I'm excited to try a higher difficulty. Totally addictive in the best way! Test your luck! Thank you so much.
I like the game, it plays well, seems correctly balanced, and the core of it is fun to play. I even did a Hardcore Foil Deck run! I thought that was the coolest and hardest thing to do, till I saw the utter bull of the Master Deck. Ugh, I get shivers just thinking of that mess.
On the other hand, it's less heavily focused areas clearly have some issues.
Let's start with the reason I'm making a comment instead of just sending a bug report on the red bug button. To my knowledge, it works. Whether when I press send it actually sent I have no way of knowing. No 'This has been sent!' message or some such message popped up. However, significantly more annnoying is that after sending it, everything I've written for the bug report, STAYS on the bug report. Now I'm not sure how it receives bug reports. Ideally, it would reject identical reports, and would be capable of receiving multiple reports from the same session. However the lack of text clearing dissuades me from the idea that the coding is 'ideal'.
Speaking of ideal, let's talk about why I was sending a bug report in the first place. I originally intended to copy paste the already written bug report, but it is impossible to copy from the game. Not an uncommon phenomena, and not a complaint on my part. After all, in an ideal world I would have no reason to copy paste in any case. Here it is:
TITLE : Codex: Decks; Incorrect Status
WHAT HAPPENED? :
In Codex: Decks, the starter deck is correctly described, but every other deck says 'You have not used this deck yet'. Ive tried winning on easy, on normal, on hardcore, and losing, all with a mix of Old poker, Sword deck, Master deck and Foil deck. Yet seemingly nothing can convince the codex that I've played a different deck.
Reproduction Steps:
1. Get a different deck
2. Play it (win or lose, no matter)
3. Check Codex: Decks
4. Be astounded at a lack of tracking
END
I hope you enjoyed that, it required quite a bit of tab switching. However, I will not be doing all that for the next bug.
In Codex: Enemies, the tracking seems a bit off. For example, I have encounters for 'The Guard' at 3, wins at 2, and losses at 0. Now, I could accept the difference if I had at some point quit mid way the Guard fight. And yet, in not one of many runs, have I quit mid way a fight. Bizzare, but not a very important statistic, so I simply wanted to point it out.
This one will not be a bug, but rather an implemention I wish to see added. In Codex: Cards, there are A LOT of cards, most only sightly different from it's neighbours. Now I'm a bit of completionist (Mayhaps the reason I've noticed exclusively Codex bugs), but it would be incredibly hard to collect rare cards since no hint is given as to which cards to look out for, rendering it a task of frustration, having to write all of it down somewhere else (remember, no copy-paste), and then go through a process of elimination for every encountered card. I enjoy the frustration of a good challenge, but that seems a little overkill, even for me. So, I would recommend adding a little exclamation, symbol, or message denoting for every card offered in a run, if it is a 'new' card or not.
If you read all of that, I hoped you enjoyed my ramble.
Hello, thank you for this super-detailed feedback !
The game is still in development, particularly the codex and card types are not super defined in the live version.
About the bug report, those are good recommendations. I'll add a notification when the report is sent, plus clear the report when opening the window. The report itself arrived correctly to our discord
So cool but after I selected 2 cards to destroy then clicked "confirm", it didn't destroy the cards! Maybe it should say "Next" or "return" and the "destroy" button should be more prominent...
Oh my god. I was so disappointed when the game ended, I wanted to sit here for hours refining my deck and fighting different enemies. Also the art ?? the atmosphere the character design the musiccc <333 Such a satisfying gameplay loop
The game feels less responsive in full screen, especially the map screen. The map feels small, if this is all the game there is.
I lost to the guy that draws 1 when under 9. It feels like a cheat ability. We have roughly 3/4 opportunities to improve cards before him, but it seems like 80% of his deck is upgraded.
If you feel the need to include a retry button, and give 3 of those(!!!) it feels like the rng is whack. not what I like in my roguelites. I feel like in roguelites you want skill to be 90% of what lets you win, and only extremely bad rng will kill your run.
But - this game has vibe and identity. great art direction.
My guy,i can say with certainty that the guy you are talking about is very easy to deal with,at least for me. By the way i think that the retryes are implemented only for strong opponents like the OG master and others like the blood elemental or the Harlequin.
its like 21 from resident evil 7 without the depth or cool stuff i feel theres work to be done but all my suggestions would just be making it more similar to 21 from resident evil 7 so uhh you figure somethin out
Playing in browser, I can't see what's on the cards, the cards instead show portions of the title screen. So the cards I've drawn show the link to the discord.
as a browser player (my personal reason is parental controls) I have to keep a tab open to save progress. This isn't super feasible because or my browser can crash or I can have a system update. Ive seen that the card game GET YOKED have a somewhat unassuming botton in its settings menu that unlocks all decks. This isn't a foolproof proposal because GET YOKED has 5 decks and the game doesn't indulge grinding.
also (I don't mean to nudge you on this) Ive played the masters deck definitely enjoyed how the deck building deck could be so rewarding (and potentially painful)

That was super fun! Took me like 3 or 4 attempts to beat but I was so happy when I finally go the final boss down.

BUG REPORT-
sometimes on the blood guy he will like get poisoned and be on 0 health????? idk it lost me a run
bruh this game is addictive, i start playing everytime im online or bored
Un Blackjack demoniaco que perfectamente podría unirse a la ola de Balatro y otros rogues similares de tener una versión completa. Muy divertido!
The game is simply wonderful!
this game is so fun to play, love the music and the character design
the last monster is very easy
Fantastic, would honestly buy a full version of this.
What an incredible game! I can't believe the initial version was a game jam project.
I did so well, honestly, might as well buy a lottery ticket today...
balatro pero version rpg mediaval, ta bueno, ojala hagan una versión mas completa en un futuro
Fantastic game!!! I really dig the art style!!!
I LOVED THE NEW UPDATEEE
Great game!
Absolute banger, sad i already finished it
So cool but after I selected 2 cards to destroy then clicked "confirm", it didn't destroy the cards! Maybe it should say "Next" or "return" and the "destroy" button should be more prominent...
Very nice.
Oh my god. I was so disappointed when the game ended, I wanted to sit here for hours refining my deck and fighting different enemies. Also the art ?? the atmosphere the character design the musiccc <333 Such a satisfying gameplay loop
I love the game its really fun Id play again
10/10
I couldn't figure out how to send the screenshot for 13 bones, so here it is in comments (the bug report was "visual bug for cards and node)
The whole time I never even knew the cursed cards had special abilities. (My bad for skipping the tutorial)
I love the visuals and mechanics. Very cool project that I'd love to play more of when I have a chance!
Are you planning to release it as downloadable content?
it's a really good game dude, I'm actually playing this a lot, good job, it gets you hooked
I think this could have a lot of potential if it was longer and you added a cool story. But the core gameplay and the concept are awesome.
I really dig the aesthetic too
Update idea: You actually could add the skeleton going to the beach, and chilling there and stuff. That would be fun.
But with a disable option on reruns, because it would be fun once, but i play this game a lot
ADDICTINGGGG

It could be that I had bad rng on my rolls(which it did feel like) but he somehow can also get up to 11dmg x 3 combo and one shot easily.
This was a very interesting game
Idk, but this kinda reminds me of Balatro
its like 21 from resident evil 7 without the depth or cool stuff i feel theres work to be done but all my suggestions would just be making it more similar to 21 from resident evil 7 so uhh you figure somethin out

hi, sorry about that.
Are you using macos? if so, it is a known bug.
ah ok. yes
i don't know of a permanent fix but i get this issue a lot too! usually if you fullscreen and then exit fullscreen, it should start working again
Definitely a quick and fun browser game to pass some time!

Hi! the game should save between sessions.
Last Saturday's update was an exception, as the codex needed to change how the progression was stored.
But it is still a good advice. I will see if I can add a cheat page, to unlock content.
Reminds me of the time I lost the house gambling.
10/10
